Okay, so I can choose to see Journey to the Center of the Earth (don't ask me why I would--just roll with it) in my area in 3 different 3-D formats, Read D 3-D, Dolby 3-D, and 3DX (yes, there a lot of theaters in my area).
Anybody know the differences between the various 3-D formats? Is one type considered superior to the other two?

The only format the movie is release in is Real-D. All the others refer to the formate of the filmstock - whether it is digital, film, and how it is synced.
Each frame of the movie is projected in a slightly different polarization of light, which is then filtered through the glasses you are supposed to wear.
