Anymore?

Count, you have to understand, America is and was a very racist and religiously insane country. The perceived increase in stupidness is just the propaganda of 'OMG best country ever!!' being shattered by having their grip on propaganda shattered.

Your assertion that America is becoming stupider (as opposed to just stupid) is weird because this country is actually becoming less intolerant and fundamentalist over time.

Just a random point regarding the USA: I find it hilarious that you have such strict restrictions when it comes to Cuba. The land of the free indeed.
Joe, who plans to own Newall's Plumbing Company, asked the presidential hopeful about his plan to increase taxes for some Americans. He felt that Obama's increase plan may redistribute wealth.

"Robin Hood stole from greedy rich people and redistributed it to the peasants, so to speak, so if he's [Obama] calling us peasants, I kind of resent that," -Joe the Plumber, a Republican.

Regarding that, Tshern, the Cuba embargo is just an artifact of the highly polarized and smear-inducing electorate and just the fact that both parties are a coalition of minorities.

People from both the Republican and Democratic parties want to end the embargo on Cuba but 1) no one wants to be called a commie/Castro-lover and 2) no one wants to alienate the Cuban-American voting bloc, which is the tipping point minority in Florida.

So while America is certainly not the land of the free, that particular episode just makes us the land of cuckolded, bunnypants leadership to boot.

To my surprise, Obama wants to lift all of the international restrictions on Cuba but he's getting cockblocked more by his own party than by the GOP.

Something you can be proud of too.

Not even Cuban immigrants as a block support the embargo anymore. Mostly because the ones that have come since the revolution - rather than the ones who left immediately - still have family there.

The ones who left immediately left only land and large valuables, which they wanted back, hence the strange US rulings towards Cuba.

Such is Democracy that it can be bought.

I guess my question is: if America does slide further into the toilet of religious facism, where on earth could sane Americans immigrate to? I doubt you can just fly to Sweden and set up shop there. Or can you?

The Libertarian fantasy is New Zealand, but unless you have a masters' or doctorate, you're going to find few places that will take you that's are industrialized nations. Canada accepts bachelors, as does most of the EU, but prolly not going to find a job there (since you have to do that first).

Professional Australia is comprised entirely of south africans, and the english (to the point of the bizarre), such that I suspect its quite easy to get here.

I have to disagree. The Libertarian fantasy is Somalia: there's no government, you can do whatever the hell you want, and everyone has guns.

Absolutely. Remember kids: when you need to stone a 12 year old girl to death after she has been raped, you are not initiating force. You are retaliating against her refusal to abide by the injunctions of the prophet Muhammad to avoid adultery. When you need to kidnap children and induct them into your army of god after hacking their parents to death you re again not initiating force. You are retaliating against their parents' failures to abide by the teachings of your Lord Jesus Christ and you are applying your right to private property over the children who now have no owner.

The Axiom of Non-Aggression sounds nice, until you realize that anyone anywhere doing anything you don't want them to is grounds for lethal retaliation under it. That is anyone can do anything so long as it is mutually agreed upon. And anyone who doesn't agree to the terms of another can shoot them in the face.

Or in other words: Somalia.

From what I've read it's easy if you have desired skills, or a willingness to the most menial of labor. Australian Immigration bureaucracy is apparently a nightmare to go through without a lawyer. You'll do better is you want to move to the territories and be will to stay there for X amount of years

There is this quote I can't find by some famous guy who I can't remember about Darwin, capital city of the Northern Territory.

Something about how Darwin seemed to have the largest proliferation of exceptionally large breasted women of any place he had ever been to in the world.

I think he was a British guy, an actor or maybe a famous scientist. I think it dated from the 1980s give or take a decade.

Very few people anger me to the point where I actually want to inflict physical harm on their person. The ones that do tend to stick in my mind.

My German buddy spent a summer in New Zealand with a mutual acquaintance and ended up going so stir-crazy with the place that he ended up walking around speaking German very loudly, absolutely aware no one around him understood what he was raving about.

A land so beautiful yet boring that it renders one mad. Perhaps we shouldn't talk about it, yes.

I might understand getting crazy by living there, but a summer - WTF? Isn't that the place where you can choose between swimming and skiing at any moment? And never be "sure" people can't understand you: a Brazilian executive once said "Germans are worthless" in a bus in a German city where many people speak Portuguese ...

On the topic of German's and with no intentiion of painting the whole nation with the same brush, but why is it German's are the vilest sex-tourists on the planet?

I mean I live in the land of casual prostitution and you get pretty blazeed on the topic. I know plenty of people you regularly frequent prostitutes and are not shy nor embarrassed by it; it's a business transaction and they respect them as business people.

But you get these fucking germans coming out to the developing world and treat every single last female under the age of 50 as if they are a prostitute. Waitress=prostitute, massage lady=prostitute, at a dance club = prostitute, look at them = prostitute. And it is not just business, they seem to derive great pleasure from degrading the women openly and publicly.

And its not just gnarly middle age businessmen who are taking a break from their daughter sex slave in the basement. I've seen handsome charismatic guys who are doing it.

It is not a uniquely German problem (I know one canadian (handsome again too) who needs a tire iron across the back of his head (or at least his nuts) nor is it all Germans, but entirely too fucking many of them.

I have no clue if it is the sole reason (or even a reason), but the official word on Thailand is basically:
- It is not safe, don't go there
- People get raped, don't go there
- There is a high risk of disease, don't go there

Apart from that it is basically a "known fact" among the general population that Thailand = sex tourism. Seriously, admit you went on vacation to Thailand and expect several months worth of dumb comments.

Of course that is pure conjecture, but I can imagine the only Germans visiting Thailand are indeed the asshole sex tourists. Oh, and the divers I guess.

It's not just in Thailand but in Africa, Cambodia, Vietnam and the Philippines as well (and imaginably others I have not been to). Now lots of Germans are perfectly fine as tourists (a majority of tourists to in Thailand are not going for sex, though it is amazing how many people who come over to asia end up using the services of prostitutes at some point; but that's another topic in and of itself), but when you see a group of men being complete worthless douchebags to some local women, they more often than not seem to be German. Maybe it's German porn
