GG is not primarily a webcomic. Foglio writes his material for the TPBs.
Well, I know he sells them in trade, but I thought the webcomic had become the primary form of GG.

Does Numb3rs improve? I started watching the series and the Pilot and second episodes were passable, the third and fourth made me want to hit something, and the fifth was back to passable.

The show is plagued by secondary characters who can't act their way out of a wet paper bag, and too much tokenism. The chick on the show often gives commentary (she's supposed to be trained in psychology?) that should be helpful to someone, but is either ignored or too insubstantial to do anything with. She literally has no purpose except to be female and hold a gun in the tense scenes.

And sometimes the mathematical theory part of the episode just assumes way too much stupidity on the viewer's part and goes from potentially interesting application of math to classroom lecture. I attribute this to too much telling and not enough showing.

Also... The main character doesn't look like a "Don." Charlie looks like a Charlie, but Don does not look like a Don.

To my knowledge Numbers does not improve. What annoyed me was that they apparently have an unseen horde of students who must be entering ginormous amounts of data in for analysis constantly. The ability to provide over 1000 work hours of data input and filtering in just a day is the main character's real power.

I admit a liking for the webcomic P A W N. Yes, it;s borderline porno, shut up! I am not a misogynist, I actually love women and want nothing more than to make them happy but they don't like me and it makes me sad.

anyway, i am not happy with the shitting content. I am not aroused, but I know someone is, and that makes me feel weird. Yes, it's protrayed as comedy but I know someone is fapping to diarrhea.
In this moment, I am Ur-phoric. Not because of any phony god’s blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my int score.

My wife bought presale tickets to the Harry Potter midnight showing. They were oversold. By about 100%. We lose, the theater loses, Fandango makes a tidy profit in transaction fees.

I just got back from Deathly Hallows pt 2 (not to brag, sorry Catharz).

I'm really annoyed that the film makers decided to cut all character arcs that did not directly involve the primary three characters, and thus some very, very badass scenes. For example, Kreacher's redemption, and thus his last stand wielding a butcher knife and backed by the Hogwarts House Elves being cut from Part 1.

Also:
Neville never got his full character arc in the movies, and thus, despite some badassery, is still the butt monkey in the final movie. He steps forward as Voldemort is gloating and welcoming traitors, and gives a rousing speech about how those who died haven't gone anywhere, they live on inside the living, blah blah blah, before pulling Gryphandor's sword from the scorched sorting hat, and brandishing it. He then promptly gets knocked back by force lightning as everyone laughs.

Notice something missing? Like Voldemort telling Neville to kneel and offering him a place in his honor, then setting him on fire when he refuses? Like Neville ripping the burning sorting hat off his head, drawing Gryphandor's sword and cutting off Nagini's head like a fucking badass? Yeah. He still gets to kill Nagini, but it's later, after waking up from his force lightning induced nap, and the three primaries have lost the basilisk fangs they were going to use.

Welcome to Hollywood, Neville. You're not a part of the power trio, so you don't get badass scenes.

I've read the latest ASOIaF book, and it's really irritated me.
The plot device where someone is presumed dead merely because their previous viewpoint scene consisted of them in the process of being executed or because their head has been chopped off, tarred, and put on a spike, only it turns out they're alive has overstayed its welcome. It's happened one too many times and ruined the cliffhanger of the ending on the wall because I simply do not buy that Jon is dead for one second. Also, I do not buy that Stannis is dead because it happened offscreen.

OotS, just OotS.

V: "I am making the best use of my spell resources as I am able!"

I highly doubt that. Estimating his lowest possible level as 13 (he's cast forcecage), that allows him to use Limited Wish, which allows him to copy 5th level sor/wiz spells from his prohibited school (conjuration). So... he could stone wall the drow. Literally. Or at least I assume. He would have a 115' long, 3" thick stone wall, and would need merely get lucky when the drow rolled reflex.

Of course this is assuming V isn't an idiot and always prepares the "I can overcome some of my limitations" spell. Which of course we know isn't likely to be the case.

Or Cloudkill, for that matter... which is fort save, so he doesn't have to worry about min maxed refl. Of course this assumes that V is ok with the possible casualties.

My impression of Varsuvius is that his player is a doofus with no idea how to run a successful wizard but believes he is awesome.

Pretty much. I'm still wondering what the fuck good invisibility is going to do him. Also why Zz'dtri doesn't have see invisible active going into combat as he was supposedly specifically built to counter Vaarsuvius.

Well, it's the set up for the joke. It's supposed to be funny that he solves the problem of the unbeatable enemy by being a coward.

I'd agree that he's a suck Wiz player. Basically, if you aren't smart enough to get a solution for SR monsters by the time you are 9th level, you probably shouldn't be the Wizard player. Golems and various SR monsters show up at that point, so your spell list has to account for that.

Personally, I'd probably Polymorph and just eat his face as a grapple-monster, Sharing the spell with my Familiar so he wins his mirror match as well. Wizard-dueling and trading spells is for morons.

Which is honestly a shame because it's so iconic. I mean, a shapeshift duel is perfectly iconic too, but that's merely one option, and trading spells should be viable.

But on the other hand, fighter dueling is pretty ridiculous as real combat too, so maybe it should, in character, be relegated to "honor before reason" type gentlemen's duels of professional courtesy.
