Everyone with a wii should play Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.

Incredibly scary, incredibly fun and an amazing story, with an incredible twist at the end. Very well done.

It also profiles you - the game tailors itself to make things scary to you, based on everything you do in the game.

Why do we even have this sort of scaling item anyway? Unless you can only get one sort of scaling item that makes you better at one specific thing, there's no point to having these items that isn't solved by just making those properties properties of the heroes themselves. Shouldn't this sort of bas...

I use starmaker's method as well.

If someone is going to use those numbers to make a character that'll break the game (which I really can't see happening) then they're probably not going to contributem much to the campaign anyway.

He can also choose to take a 'Path,' giving up one of the Spheres entirely and getting expert acess tp another earlier, thus access to one of the PrC earlier but loss of two others. No. You do not allow players to borrow power from the future, nor do you allow them to "save it up" like in...

I think that resurrection shouldn't be easy but it should definitely be possible. But it shouldn't be casting a spell. It should be marching into the underworld and rescuing your companions or tricking the god of death or blah blah. Make it a plot hook, and make it not always succeed. This also solv...

You could give all of those feats to Rogues for absolutely free.

They still wouldn't use them.

So you take turns autowinning?

Also, I'd like to think that my system is a bit more of a game, if a bit poorly presented.

While the minaret banning is stupid, the problem with Freedom of Religion including Islam is that Islam includes bits which explicitly run against Freedom of Religion. In order to actually have freedom of religion, you can't have Islam, because of what it says you should do to atheists/heretics/wome...

The big thing I don't get and what keeps me from calling myself a "leftist" is the incessant kow-towing and almost worship of Islam. How is discriminating against a creed racist? Furthermore, how can anyone claim to stand for the rights of women and then defend islam? Sure, there are a few...

Death Note is shonen without the silly battles.

I'm also going to reccomend Berserk as inspiration for fights that don't follow that formula. There's a grand total of about 3 powerups that happen in the entire series.

I personally wonder why Tzor cares about this sort of thing because abortion availability is an issue that's never going to affect him ever at all.

It's almost like he just parrots opinions from people in positions of authority without thinking about them at all.

I've been playing Dragon Age. I haven't finished it yet, but there are a few things that bug me. The first: WoW combat - build up threat with the warriors so the mages don't draw aggro The second: entirely uninteresting classes - you get maybe 17 abilities in the whole game with a system that was ta...

It's a matter of knowing paternity. If you have a virgin wife, you can be fairly sure that her children will all be yours . That's a big deal, genetically, considering the average 10% rate of mistaken paternity--although the fact that it's usually the husband's brother alleviates some of the geneti...

Size

It seems to me that most rpg systems, d20 in particular, don't really model size all that well. Apart from grappling people, if you want to hit things you are almost better off being really tiny. This doesn't really seem to play out in the real world - Orcas eat Penguins, Bears eat People/Salmon, T-...

I think there's actually something to be said for a "tier" style system here. Most of the abilities you gain each level scale, but the actual ability you get from multiclassing is determined by the tier. So a level 12 wizard who picks up a fighter level gets a more appropriate ability than...

Oh, it turns out that the cover ability is actually just always on, and you're considered to always be in cover, all the time. Useful if you fight in blank, featureless cubes all the time, or on open plains, but not so much anywhere else.

It seems to me like the solution would be to make Jedi the equivalent of what modern people think Ninjas were like - Sure, an individual can totally flip out and kill like 10 people or something, but nobody is ever going to field an entire army of them in open warfare, because that would just be dum...

MGuy, if you can cancel or redirect the spell at any time then you have completely destroyed any chance of making spells go off one round later provide any meaningful difference to use of tactics.

The part where you talked about making them suck - doing pretty much the same thing as WotC did with regard to playable monster races - make them suck so badly that you claim that the system supports them, except for the fact that they're completely unplayable.
