Oh no you fucking don't. You're not getting off that easily.Crissa wrote:You didn't answer the question, though.
I said this was an insult. You do not get to say it isn't. I don't care about the rules on 4chan. I don't want to post - or be involved with - people who blithely cast around derogatory terms for real persons. This may seem edge-case to you, but people are still people, whether they're transwhatever or not.
And I am not going to stand your bigotry without saying something about it.

You want me to answer your question? Alright, assuming the actual question was "Do you incorporate racism into your games" the answer is yes.
Why?
Because it exists, and thus it makes the setting more realistic. Second of all, it's already in the games, the gnomes think the kobolds are all shifty little buggers who prefer gang up tactics and won't stand man to man and fight fair. The dwarves hate anything with fangs. The elves want to wipe orcs off the plane. And the humans think all orcs are after their wimmin.
Now, that's assuming there was a real question there and that it wasn't just "Lets throw a question with a universally objectionable term at Prak so he fumbles his arguement!"
That shit doesn't work with me.
Now, as for the ongoing question of "What the fuck? Is she serious, high or insulting me?"
By the same token as my not getting to say what isn't an insult, you don't get to say what is. Unless the word "trap" is in fact an insult specifically to you. What say, Crissa, hiding a dick on your side? Because that's about the only way I'll give a shit what you say about the word.
Next, yes, people are people, and I care precisely the same amount about every single one I don't personally know: not. one. fucking. bit.
I have no problem with transgenders, transexuals, transvestites, or god damned transhumans.
Now, everyone knows your gender and sexual preference Crissa, you've paraded it around enough. I try not to, because everytime it comes up for me, it seems like I'm being obnoxious. I am not the 4chan troll straight male you seem to think I am. I am male, certainly, there's some anatomy that makes it difficult to argue against that. However, I am not straight, I'm bi. Also, I am not strictly male in psychology, I am, well, the best way to say it is "complex", but the label is bi-gender. I have both male and female aspects to my thoughts, attitudes, mannerisms, and psychology. For that matter, I for one, am very much looking forward to the day when you can go in for a simple genetic operation and become whatever you like, I'm not particularly happy being male, but neither would I be particularly happy with becoming female, I'm greedy, you could say. You may deny this because I don't "act" it, but let me tell you, 12 years of public school makes one very good at creating masks, and a lot of them at that. I have gotten used to a certain way of consciously acting such that I draw little attention to myself. Online, I tend to fall prey to the GIST more than I probably should.
The point of all this is, what fucking bigotry?
If you find the term "trap" offensive, grow some thicker skin. If you're offended because people apparently mistake you for a man, then either get used to it, educate them, or act more feminine. I don't give a shit which you do, but the issue is one of societal gender assumptions and your not fitting them. So you can either not be bothered by said assumptions, change said assumptions, or bend to them. I'm not advocating the last one, and I think taking it is the one that shows the least spine, but it's certainly an option.
Ok. Fine. But you know what? I'm fucking inside the group. So apparently I do get a say, now don't I? And I say: grow up, it's a fucking word, and you're taking it, and life, too damned seriously. The only reason "trap" doesn't refer to me is because I don't, at this time, crossdress. I do not crossdress at this time because I know what a man, a hundred pounds over weight and in less than good physical condition looks like, and it's not the effect I wish to invoke. And I think others should keep this in mind too, I've seen some fucking hideous sites at the club that would have been hideous regardless of true gender.Ceiling Cat wrote:And this is why people outside of a group do not get to decide what people inside that group find offensive or not.
(Also, Lago is correct, and it is an offensive term, no matter how much you are not-offended by a term that isn't used to refer to you.)
