It isn't that good. The aps add a bonus, but it isn't 1:1.

I did some testing with the fear bows, I think they force a moral check (and only if they do damage), but you have lots of death mages, so you could spam terror and panic to reduce moral to make that more effective.

Wait, so they only force a check if they get through enemy protection? I am disappoint.

EDIT: I would appreciate it if everyone would PM me their diplomatic status with respect to Tien Ch'i, so I know what promises I've made. If you prefer to communicate by email, include an email address in your PM. Even if I have no relationship with you, I would love a note saying "no pact" or whatever.

I think it might just be on hit, but my tests haven't involved LA ulm so I don't have heavily armored shieldless guys to look at it with.

longbowmen have 5 more range than composite bows. if you order the group to "fire at archers" they will moving forward to do so if necessary, though given man's precision advantages and the whole flaming thing I would probably use attack archers instead, at least with the cavalry. If you have some decent blocker cav (i.e. cheap, unarmored with shields) you can set them a little more forward (behind the blockers) and try hold and attack.

Your job is to get your lances on the archers as soon as possible. if you can decoy his archers away from your ancestor vessels, I guess you might use the fear bows if you have other cav on the archers, but really you don't have time. I don't know your force structure, mages or research, but unless you have someone who can cast storm and/or arrow fend, its all about speed. Your lances should instakill what they hit, but the bonus only gets used once. he will have blockers.

If you have any specific questions send me a pm and I will try to help. I know even less about chelms than I do about LA TC, but I can help prevent mistakes.

I still don't know what research I have. I SHOULD have plenty of air mages, so hopefully getting up a storm or a fend, and using lances, isn't off the table. If I do enough damage to Man, is anyone in position to move against him? Take it up in PM if so.

TC's lancers have tried several time to reach our archers. Only in the two earliest engagements did they succeed, and they still lost one of those two battles while the other was a bloodbath that left TC with a pile of dead Ancestor Vessels and a fully kitted Khan.

We've since adjusted and the lancers have to face a pretty thick screen of blockers before getting to the archers, who surprisingly don't die easily to lances (Defenders apparently have fantastic Defense). Once amongst the Defenders, TC cavalry tends to suffer 70-90% losses - on the first volley of short-range Longbow fire.

I haven't seen TC deploy a single air mage in any of our battles. And I don't think he has Storm researched either.

Finally, I have peace agreements or even outrght alliances with ALL my neighbors. So unless people want to start backstabbing, TC is on its own.

BTW, Korwin, could you also extend the timer so that Orion has more time to look through his turn file?

It did not, but I got the map from page 5 of this thread. EDIT: I'm now in game. This would be a good time for anyone to accuse anyone else of having secret piles of gemgens or blood slaves.

EDIT EDIT I have a NORMAL fucking SCOUT hero. Not a scout prophet hero. Just a scout.

Chelms has no secret piles of gem gens or bloodslaves. We've been sending gems and supplies to our friends and allies though.

Immortals respawn in the capital if they die within a friendly dominion. They lose their gear.

VPs are an alternate win condition. Each nation's capital is a VP province. You earn 1 VP per captured capital. FIrst player to fully control 7 VP provinces out of the possible 13 VP wins.

VP provinces are provinces with a crown symbol.

Currently, we have several folks tied with 2 VPs apiece.

I thought I still had NAP with Agartha, but my turn report shows him routing some of my PD. What's going on?

It's vanilla, everyone is trying to build secret piles of everything. I just have piles, at least until I can summon a faery queen and have her burn them off with living fire. YEEOWch!!

Agartha upthread somewhere has an explicit timeline of when he is attacking, if he's pushed that up, you'll have to ask him. Welcome to the funhouse.

That was part of the earlier deal where TC traded Gath + adjacent territories for the NAP.

So you are at war with Chelms now? Because I think they have a standing defensive pact with Gath.

If I was at any point then it was superseded by the Pact we made where I declared war on T'ien Ch'i.

Ok, mystery solved.

Now, are we going to get another turn soon? I've been on the edge of my seat for a while.

Chelm's defensive alliance with Gath extended specifically against TC only.

So an Agarthan invasion of Gath, by itself, is not an "act of war".

Well, if the turn comes out as soon as I turn mine in, you should get it in a couple of hours.
