Lago, I hate 4chan too, but acting like that is only going to encourage them. Unless you're going to physically go to their house and ruin their shit a channer won't care. Channer's are anti-establishment, anti-morality, and anti-decency. Anything they do they only do for the luls; they relish making other people react.
What Koumei posted wasn't bad at all, there's no reason too respond like that.

I'm pretty sure that the screencap there was an example of a post we've seen a million times before on WotC, but taken as a screenshot because 4chan doesn't save posts. Like seriously, that was just really out of line.

NO ONE HERE WILL EVER ACCEPT YOUR 4CHAN BULLSHIT SO STOP TRYING TO EXPOSE US TO IT. IT ONLY MAKES ME MORE HOSTILE.
Woah, Lago. There is no reason to say that. Koumei was on topic and pretty much was showing a thread that makes me a little sad. Since threads on 4chan are not archive, it only makes sense to show a screen cap. Now the screencap is large though.
Now...I went back and saw that ceiling's warlock is on the table again.

*anger rises*
You damn right is not balanced to how the game works because this actually makes fighter worth playing and makes them not shit at higher levels. I don't think he really read them and just gave a scan since he would know that you can't go foil happy...it uses an immediate action.

Ultimately, fbmf is the one who decides what is and isn't appropriate here. And, as far as I can tell, Koumei's post is perfectly on-topic: it's mocking an idiot on /tg/ for arguing without evidence that fighters are just fine, so there must be something wrong with the games where fighters are too weak.
Now, can we get back to mocking idiots who think that the 3e fighter doesn't have any problems?
Re: Threads that make us Laugh, Cry, or Both
Yeah, Lago: What they said. That wasn't an introduction of something 4chan, that was another stupid post. And the /tg/ board seriously isn't the /b/ board, which is where everything that is wrong originates. It's just like the WotC boards, except also includes "Warhammer 40K Imperium vs Star Wars Empire!" threads.
I'd feel offended at your over-the-top hostility and anger there, except that the Internet isn't serious business, so if you want to get angry enough to have a stroke, that's your decision. But you could at least cool it a bit and use some common sense.
tl;dr: eat a dick
Also: the improved Warlock. Wow. Apparently they like the way the game is currently balanced: where the casters win the game, everyone else loses and the monsters kill everyone in the second category. Which is a very interesting definition of 'balance'.

I'm not sure what you guys were expecting bringing up 4chan?
That post wasn't an isolated incident, the retarded catchphrases and image macros have been all over the place for months.
Re: Threads that make us Laugh, Cry, or Both
It wasn't an isolated incident, but nor was it related to any of the usual 4chan stuff, other than the name of the site. And seriously, you guys are exploding over, as far as I can tell, nothing. I can only compare this to the Arabs paying for the murder of the cartoonist who drew Mohammed's head on a pig. You're overreacting.
Besides, as this is a "Your name is X, therefore my opinion of you, and anything you post, is X" site, I'll say right now that Ceilingcat is the one here who I like the most - both in respecting his opinions and in making me lol. Also the portrait used. So from his ignoring your tantrums, I can gather that I am free to ignore your tantrums with no ill effects.
If it makes you cry that much, I believe there's an ignore feature on this site. Put it to good use.

I have something to say about this.
I don't know what it is, but mostly only because I don't know how deeply offensive I can get away with being.
In the mean time just let it be known I side with Waesel, Lago, and the forces of light, justice, and not being a depressingly stupid waste of my reading time.

I think you all are being too oversensitive. Koumei didn't do anything wrong at all.
You people are being too sensitive. "Oh no, 4chan! I'm impotent now for seeing the deadly radiation of 4chan!"
Seriously, you guys need to grow up a bit.

Re: Threads that make us Laugh, Cry, or Both
Koumei, why the fvck would you color everything someone says due to a past opinion? As in, what'd be your problem with judging an idea just by itself just because there's an username above it? Also, I thought of checking /tg/ (because I do see some value in the "viewing stuff only as itself, without prior context" idea), but the image excess threatened to burn my eyes out. May I ask, though, whether people actually make new stuff for RPGs, or if it's used just as a place for discussion?
Calibron: on WotC, having lots of stupid is the nature of a larger board; as for why one would bother reading there: a simple example. Of course, there's stuff of less than ideal quality there, but you'd see a lot of nifty blade magic stuff. So, there's good things there too, not just the distilled idiocy the guys link here.

Re: Threads that make us Laugh, Cry, or Both
I don't actually colour my opinions like that, but that's generally the nature of non-Anonymous boards. In this place it happens the least, but it does still happen (note how the WotC-tards refer to "Frank and his sheep".), whereas in others, well...
"OMG Stormwind said something!!!!1111one"
Any actual post I judge on its own, but I still have varying opinions on the individual posters. I generally believe there will be laughs when Ceilingcat posts, and Epic stuff when Frank and K post on game systems. I'm also willing to believe that when either Frank or K post "You're wrong because..." that I am indeed wrong - they're better at this stuff than I am. But if they tell me "The world's made of marshmallow", I'm not falling for it.
You know. Like most normal people. Look at a post at face value, but develop opinions on other people. But you see the "Let's worship _____ and anything s/he posts!" all the time on other boards.
/tg/ unfortunately doesn't have discussions on making games. It has "Women shouldn't be playable characters because I've never seen a real woman" threads, "D&D is better than 40K" threads, "40K is better than D&D" threads, "(Insert random picture). Stat me." threads (or "Counts as" for 40K), and occasional campaign advice or army list advice.
It also has rule 34 on Mind Flayers, and Slowpoke converted to most of the 40K armies. But no game design.
Also, it had a thread on "1,000 Blank White Cards", which is an awesome game.

Re: Threads that make us Laugh, Cry, or Both
Thanks - but yeah, at least I'm not gonna have to stare at so many pictures. Fame: I apply about the same for Stormwind as for Frank & K, and don't consider myself a sheep of either; OTOH, I think I've already seen people here act like that with regards to reputation - it always happens. But the best, by far, was "Women shouldn't be playable characters because I've never seen a real woman" ...

Re: Threads that make us Laugh, Cry, or Both
Tempest Stormwind is fairly intelligent and reasonable, I haven't really seen anything to merit the ridiculous praise he receives on a regular basis over on WOTC. I only have a real negative opinion about one user here, and I'll still read and give consideration to his posts as long as said post isn't entirely composed of ad hominem attacks.

I think it's because he has some understanding of the game, but doesn't go out of his way to shred WotC's stupidities.
Re: Threads that make us Laugh, Cry, or Both
Oh, he's fairly intelligent, true, and doesn't go out of his way to cause trouble - even regrets naming the fallacy after himself. I find his "If you don't use Psionics, I'm going to kick you in the nuts" attitude a little annoying, but that's just in his sig, he won't shout it at you in posts.
And 1,000 Blank White Cards is a fantastic card game - this coming from someone who hates card games.
You have a whole heap of blank cards - just cut them from thin card you can buy for less than a dollar at craft stores. Every player gets a texta/marker/pen. Then every time you need to draw a card, and it's blank, you draw a picture, name it, and give it a rule and/or point value.
You can play a card on yourself, another player, or in the middle, where everyone is affected. At the end of the game, whoever has the highest point total wins. Then you shred the suckier cards but keep the better ones for next time.
This leads to "I'm Goth", a card that gives every card the Vampire Subtype. Which does nothing until next turn, where you make the "Vampire Slayer D" card which instantly removes the target's vampires from play. Unless they already have the "I hate anime" card, which forces you to eat any anime-based card you play...
It gives me an excuse to draw, so I approve.

Yes. And although there's a "You can't make a card that says you win the game", you can just give yourself a card that grants over nine thousand points. Of course, someone else could one-up you, or play a "You have to eat that card" card.

*laughs* Awesome.
Probably is, though someone else could play the "Shoot the taxman" card. It really can become a game of countering each other constantly.
But yeah, I imagine it's bad form to do that. Although if you play with a group who frequently has "GM cash bribe" as a feature in their game, well... *shrug*
