Like I said, this is kind of an "if" situation. Apocalypse-scale stakes mean Xil's gonna go for an all-out blitz instead of a skirmishing withdrawal.

I don't know whether she'll hear, since there might be a wall between 'Xochitl and Cadwyn right now.

Nah, you're in the central chamber of the pyramid, the tunnel is a straight shot to the outside. No intervening wall.

http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wo ... ntFortress

"This metal cube is small, but when activated by speaking a command word it grows to form a tower 20 feet square and 30 feet high, with arrow slits on all sides and a crenellated battlement atop it. The metal walls extend 10 feet into the ground, rooting it to the spot and preventing it from being tipped over. The fortress has a small door that opens only at the command of the owner of the fortress—even knock spells can’t open the door.

The adamantine walls of instant fortress have 100 hit points and hardness 20. The fortress cannot be repaired except by a wish or a miracle, which restores 50 points of damage taken.

The fortress springs up in just 1 round, with the door facing the device’s owner. The door opens and closes instantly at his command. People and creatures nearby (except the owner) must be careful not to be caught by the fortress’s sudden growth. Anyone so caught takes 10d10 points of damage (Reflex DC 19 half).

The fortress is deactivated by speaking a command word (different from the one used to activate it). It cannot be deactivated unless it is empty.

Strong conjuration; CL 13th; Craft Wondrous Item, mage’s magnificent mansion; Price 55,000 gp."

Ah man, looks like the paladins bought their super-items from the bargain bin after all.

If Xil knows Undercommon, try "expand" to activate, and "collapse" to deactivate.

Or Tek could shout them at the same time. He can actually take 10d10 damage without expiring, and get healed back to fighting-tier next round.

Well, I'm guessing you found the command word, since 'aquavits' is not something you would normally call people.

There is still a risk that out of malevolence or terrible communication skills on the oracle's part, we got the wrong word. Shouting some random words that might possibly also work could only aid our cause and confuse our enemies.

Also, I feel mildly distraught about the outcome of the Battle Pun Brainstorm for this conflict. There's going to be so much material to work with, but it's going to go terrible places if I actually use it.

Back on the net, y'all. Really sorry about this. I'd post on my phone but have had really bad results with that.

Who's rolling to see when Xilraxochitl's Breath of Death recharges? Invisible Castle is down right now, but I rolled a physical die and got a 1. My turns go as follows:

- Breath of Death
1- Instant Fortress
2- Wolf Fang Strike
3- ???

I'm trying to decide whether it would be possible to hit the living enemies with another bunch of negative levels to maximize the chance that Xil's gaze keeps them all stunlocked.

How cramped are things inside the pyramid? And if Cadwyn gets out of the way, does it look like Ng will keep running?

Looks like I was mistaken. Standard Crawling Heads have a charisma of 25, so Xil would need a booster item or another character level before she could take over one.

Then again, standard Fiend Folio Crawling Heads can use Finger of Death, Wail of the Banshee, and Control Undead. They can also use Animate Dead at will. I doubt what we ran into before was a real Crawling Head. So it might not have 25 CHA after all, who knows.

Pretty cramped. A fireball would fry everybody.

Yes.

Hmm. So did the Instant Fortress knock a hole in the ceiling or not? This could be important.

One last question: can Cadwyn see anyone in the center room from his present position? If so, who?

Cadwyn's head (currently in dragon form), brushes the ceiling of the corridor (8') and so can see over the others into the room - center is Thingol, to Thingol's right is the headless blue-furred ape, to Thingol's left is the Blue dressed as a librarian with the fire-whip.

I had thought some combination of "scream" and "wet yourself" had been mandated until I was told otherwise?

Yeah, sorry about that. For some reason I had it in my head we were all undead or something.

Red Rob: You can decide how to scream and wet yourself, if you want to get clever about it, or yeah you can wait until next turn.

Cowering behind the big friendly dragon seems like a good option if available. Running screaming into the desert seems more suicidal.
