That's a strange statement, since that was part of the whole mythology behind the world - magic comes and goes in waves, and Earthdawn is at one side of a peak and SR is on the other. That stupidity came with the whole concept of having magic in Shadowrun. I'm okay playing Cyberpunk 2030 with dice p...

Yeah, but I don't care if things have Byzantium or Niobium as subtypes. I don't care if the elements are air water fire earth or void steel and wood - or all of the above. Their existence is entirely based upon the story and power that interact thereof.

Who cares if they have subtypes or not? I don't care if they have arbitrary subtypes. Elements/alignments are arbitrary.

Horrors span from little guys to nth dimensional cores, though they're all outside of the physical. But it takes the physical guys to defeat them, because they eat magic. Eventually you can defeat some of them, but it's like killing a fire with a flamethrower. It can be done, but it's not going to h...

There are specific abilities that get bonuses from or require specific equipment. Yes. Like I said, this only happens in a minority of classes, let alone specs, in WoW. So this isn't from WoW. Paladin Librams are Relics . Only three classes in WoW even use Relics. They aren't your weapon and you do...

Pious students might have to spend more time studying and less time on electives to pass more stringent math and science requirements.

There is a certain 'no duh' and 'isn't that how it's supposed to work?' to this.

But Frank, in WoW it doesn't matter if you have an orb or a tome or twinkly wand in your hand - only its stats. As long as it's level-appropriate.

4e cares not only that you have the best item, but that it's a specific shaped item as well.

I like real armor, too.

But marketing only knows drooling fanboys.

Also, the semen thing is a classic Chinese/Japanese trope; in that it represents the very essence of a person's soul.

Yes, it is very male-biased. But isn't it a great way to die?

Resale: vendors paying a very small percentage of item price (like, Atiesh used to cost 25 gold - I think it can no longer be sold now, I may be mistaken). In WoW, it encourages trade. In 4e, it is utter shit. Since when do WoW mages need some sort of Orb/Rod/Dildo to cast spells? Since the beginni...

I like to say HERO isn't really a system - it's a creation book for a system. Once you've done all the work of deciding the balance of your characters, you're set to go, and it's actually much simpler to play than create characters for.

#6 isn't really a WoW comment. #7 seriously isn't.

But mostly I don't like the argument because it's lazy. There's dozens of things they could've brought from MMOs to a table top game to add, not distract, from the experience.
