"Good response."
Anyways, another thing to abuse large size.
Be a half-orc or Orc. Take PoID (Assuming it DOES let you take Fiendish classes now). You take True Fiend 1 for the Martial Weapon and Light armor proficiency. After that, take Rogue.
You take four levels of Fiendish Brute (at level 4 and 5, and again at 9 and 10). Jump into Meteor Ninja when you can.
Then go assasinate some tiny men.

He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

pretty much, yes.
I was a bit surprised when I was looking through it recently and noticed none of the abominations were larger than colossal.

One cute trick I found is what shall be called The Jackie Chan. Not especially powerful or anything, but hey:
Jester/Monk
As a Jester, you can wield any weapon, particularly improvised ones, without penalty. Or if we want to avoid that TWF thing, "without the -4 penalty for attacking with a non-proficient weapon".
Take a Monk stance with:
[*]Use any weapon with this stance
[*]Stunning blow
Now you go around wielding a +1 Flaming Ladder and stunning people with it. You can even try to get "clever thinking" bonus XP for using your weapon (a ladder) as a makeshift object for climbing to higher places.

Right, but it shapes all the stone within that area. So you just shoot your cone of paralysis at a bunch of people and make sure that part of the cone hits the ground.Maxus wrote:Except Stone Shape doesn't create stone, it reshapes it.

Since people who stand on the ground already have most of their cone in the earth anyway, they are fine.
If you fly above people and use your Cone that way, then you just have to have a slightly smaller circle in exchange for the stone beneath them being shaped up around them.

That actually brings up a question about stone shape's use in this scenario.
So you use a breath weapon and you touch stone with it, and then the stone moves to ensnare whoever you're trying to hit with your breath weapon. But does the amount of stone you can shape keyed off of the Breath Weapon feat (30 ft. cone) or off of stone shape's actual area (10ft + 1/level)?
What I'm asking is: Is the amount of stone you get to shape based off of however much of the cone touches the ground, or is it based off of the actual spell's area?

I would say it's based off the spell's actual area, but you can shape any stone within the cone's range. So, anything hit by the cone, but the total amount shaped is the normal area.
ie, within a 30' cone, a 6th level character can shape 16 cubic feet of stone. Or, enough to encase three (medium) targets in stone, within a 30' cone in front of you.

So, say there's a wall made of rock that the conduit is standing next to, and there's a goblin next to him.
If the conduit breathes on the wall, does he reshape the stone anywhere he wants? (So he could trap the goblin) or does he have to actually breath on both stone and goblin?

I'd say you could only shape stone around the goblin in that case if you can actually get enough stone area to reach the goblin, and there'd be some kind of tether involved...

hmmmm like, the stone you shape needs to be touching the edge of the AoE that you have and must also be touching stone that wasn't shaped by the spell.

I got bored and I was looking at Fiend classes/feats and looking at how to handle certain fiends.
Imp
Halfling base race. Take Product of Infernal Dalliance (with the claws, because claws are cool). Take that Scorpion Sting fiend feat if you want. Take Wings of Evil when you qualify. Color the skin green. If you can find a way to boost your movement speed, go for it.
Balor
True Fiend class. Take the Fire sphere, and the feats Elemental Aura, Large Size, and Wings of Evil.
Marilith
Aasimar. Extra Arms. Lots of Extra Arms. Large Size and Constricting Fiend.

This one is sort of involved, but, here goes.
Be a Bone Rider. Heck, be a Death Knight Bone Rider, and become a Swordwraith and get that Whispers of the Otherworld necromantic feat.
Take a leadership feat and get your mount as a cohort. Use Bigode's Dragon (sorry, Hicks, but Bigode's is nicer.) Swordwraith it up, too.
Now, the Dragon starts off with a fly speed of its land speed. But also gets this:
Now, your mount has some seriously nice bonuses. It gets Phantom Steed permanently on it, with a caster level equal to your character level (one can assume).
That leads to this:
And, in keeping with the premise of "Seeing what happens when you stack everything together", take at least two levels of Koumei's Kiting Flyer from this thread
Specifically, you want Jetstream.
That's 112d6 in a 35-foot-wide, 1120-foot-long line.
A few passes with that would make an army get seriously homesick. And makes me think of Errol from Guards! Guards!
For shits and giggles, take the third level of Kiting Flyer for a +50 foot bonus to fly speed. Not that it makes -too- much difference.

Now, the Dragon starts off with a fly speed of its land speed. But also gets this:
Strengthened Wings: From 7th level on, a landed dragon can make secondary natural attacks with both of its wings, with a base damage of 1d6 for a Medium dragon, plus the dragon's Strength modifier. Also, the dragon's fly speed doubles. Every four levels after 7th, the fly speed multiplier increases by 1.
Now, your mount has some seriously nice bonuses. It gets Phantom Steed permanently on it, with a caster level equal to your character level (one can assume).
That leads to this:
At fourth level, your mount gets this:A phantom steed has a speed of 20 feet per caster level, to a maximum of 240 feet.
When you're level 12 and have four levels of Bone Rider, your dragon mount has a land speed of 340. When you're level 14-16, its air speed could be as high as 1120, if you assume everything stacks in the most favorable way (likely doesn't. Still comes out to 1020 speed). It's also Huge size.Speed of the Dead: At 4th level, the Bone Rider's mount gains a +100' enhancement bonus to its speed with every movement it has.
And, in keeping with the premise of "Seeing what happens when you stack everything together", take at least two levels of Koumei's Kiting Flyer from this thread
Specifically, you want Jetstream.
So, a huge creature takes a 15-foot space. Jetstream affects all within 10 feet of the path of a straight line equal to your move speed, and does 1d6 damage per 10 feet something's pulled. The mount has a move speed of 1120 (possibly).Jetstream (Su): starting at second level, whenever the Kiting Flyer moves in a straight line, everyone within 10 feet of any point of its movement risks being dragged along. They must make a Ref save or Fort save (their choice, DC 10 + half HD + Str) or be pulled behind and end up Prone in a square right behind the Flyer, taking 1d6 damage per 10 feet moved. They gain a +4 bonus to the save if larger than the Flyer, or a -4 penalty if smaller.
That's 112d6 in a 35-foot-wide, 1120-foot-long line.

This is again based on Koumei's Monster Classes.
And some more thinking about an imp. Specifically, how to make one scary.
Halfling base race, Product of Infernal Dalliance.
Take the Monstrous Humanoid Class to level 6. Put the ability boosts in Dex and Str and boost your claw damage at level 6, and take Pounce.
At level 5, take Wings of Evil as your Monstrous Humanoid bonus feat. Along the way, take Weapon Finesse.
After that, bail to Kiting Flyer for a few levels. If you want, take it all the way through to level 5. Bungee Attack's ability to let you get a move action as a swiftie means you can Jetstream people as a swift action. You also get +5d6 damage to Jetstream from the level 3 speed boost.
Then start on Monster in the Closet. Congratulations, you're now the title character is some kind of horror movie. You're small size, have a high dexterity, have good claw damage, and show up, rip someone a new one, and disappear.
For further feats, take INA if you want to boost your claw damage further. If you can find a way to boost your speed, go for it. Giant Slayer and Weapon Finesse may not be a bad idea, either.

I actually can't remember how I wanted to finish those sentences, given that my sister had called shortly before then to say she was having surgery in the morning. I'll think of something coherent.
But mostly, it's from the Large-size classes and the Monster classes. Which are a lot of fun and attract some interest when I show them to people. I'd say keep them. Especially given how much I'm having to pull to make them actually breakable.
These are cheese experiments. I wouldn't use these tricks as a player or a DM. Well, actually, I'd do the Imp one. But mainly because it's not -that- insane. You're just playing a ball of fury who comes out of nowhere and tears someone's face off and does a little damage when he puts some distance between him and his new victim. And you're level 11+ to pull it off right.
