Magic item compendium. Displacement armor property. +1 equivalent bonus, swift action to activate and you get displacement for 5 roudns. As usual, Beguiler wins. We don't care about AC, but he has a Chain Shirt of Displacement (50% miss chance). He is level 7 or higher. You cast Greater Mirror Imag...

I like the d20 systems unified die roll. Skill check? d20 Attack roll? d20 Saving throw? d20 Any unified dice system is a good resolution mechanic, but it doesn't have to be a d20. I think that 1 die is better than more dice, and that a 20 is better than a 6. However, this can produce wildly differe...

Herre's the list of why community colleges have sucked, from personal experience. The below is an accumulation of >7 friends at college - not all of the credits transfer. It has not mattered how many people that you talk to or what promises that they make, not all of them transfer. - knowing that no...

Here is what I would do: 1 - Call them. Ask to cancel the charge (presumably they deny this). 2 - Sign up with a new bank for a credit card. 3 - Threaten to cancel your card (presumably they don't care). 4 - Cancel original card. Honestly, I wouldn't put up with that shit. I love Wamu/Chase, but I d...

I just "got out" of college, I'm still here for grad school. Firstly. Go to college. There are people on this forum telling you "well, maybe you don't have to". This is true, but if you are coming out of the military, it's free. Not going to college, for you, is stupid. Going to ...

Here we go, something resembling a final build: You prioritize Wisdom, because that is the money. Con is always good, and you never regret it. Dex or Str (dump 1) depending on whether you want melee or ranged. You should go ranged, but dumping dex doesn't really hurt because you have touch attacks f...

Oh, sorry. If you are actually using something like the above build for killing tiny monsters, there is the PERFECT feat for you: Level 9 (assuming you are alive) - Summon Elemental Reserve feat - Complete Mage page 47 (you have to have 4th level spells) - Infinite summons of small, dieable monsters...

We have always played that anything with a non-permanent duration will end at caster death. I'm not sure how much basis in RAW that has, but that's how we have always played it. WotC seems to think that all durations extend beyond death of the caster: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/rg/2004...

The other good alternative to a frontliner that our party has found is a summoner. Summoners can usually pad the front line with some decent creatures that have resistance to whatever the enemy is. A relatively straightforward build is: Human Cleric of <nature god> Domain - Summoning (+2 CL on summo...

Crusader Tank is a good call if I remember correctly. They have a crazy maneuver recovery mechanic, but I seem to recall a guaranteed DR 3* ? They get to couple that with some things like "when you hit the monster, heal yourself", and become an awesome tank pretty early with a d10 hit die....

There are a number of decent CR 1 and 2 encounters if you bother to look, and I like these levels as a DM because the characters are easy to make. Off the top of my head, I know what feats like Rapid Shot, Point Blank Shot, Power Attack, Mounted Combat etc. do. I also can quote what a level 1 fighte...

Yea, full attacks are crazy-hard to pull off on any regular basis when the monster has any sort of movement ability. Low-level D&D is very fun, and one of those reasons if because it is deadly. At level 2 as a wizard, you know you might survive about 1 arrow. Maybe 2, on a good day. At level 1 a...

Yea, that would be much better, personally. In genera, it should cost a real resource when you use it, or it should cost nothing. The idea of having 14 blasts at level 11 is annoying. Either call it at will (every round the character is likely to spend in combat), or use another model, but this <lar...

Ah, okay.

If that is the case, I would argue that they are being used a bit too often. The current limit is level+3, and I would like it around level/2, personally. This is a superficial chance, so pay no particular heed.

Words should probably be cast at whatever the highest level spell is, but allow a Will and Fort Save. The effects should be dependent on CR. Also, if you double-up, you should advance to the next category. I was saying that the Words should be cast "as per highest level spell." I am not cl...

First of all: that video is awesome. General Grievous is a complete fucking badass. The CGI ones really did do the "we'll get you captain planet!" enough that it was noticeable to a passing observer in the goddamned airport. On my ipod. No, I'm not kidding. Second: The 1st prequel really w...

I like the idea. I have played in a campaign with different monetary systems (metal is rare in the dessert and obsidian is used as currency rather than gold, making the value of gold hyper-inflated).
