The Really Abstract Locations thread got me in the mood to run a Xiaolin Showdown game again, since it makes the actual showdowns more doable, so I went through a wiki entry for the show and made most of the Wu for D&D. If it's not here, I think it's dumb and so I'm not going to waste my time on it. If it doesn't have any actual stats listed, I don't know what to do with it. Some of the other one's I'm taking a bit of license with abilities to make them fit a D&D world, play well with other Wu, or just look better (to me)
I'll probably add other items from other "fetch quest" shows later.
Wus
All Wu are magic items, meaning that weapons/attacks and armour, unless otherwise stated, have a bonus on attack and damage/armour bonus equal to +1/3ChLv. Wu that allow the use of spells use the user's character level as Caster Level, unless a Caster Level is specified. All Wu are Use Activated, unless specified otherwise, and use a command word (the Wu's name).
- Mantis Flip Coin- A red and gold coin with a square hole in the center. When activated (which requires flipping the coin in the air in addition to calling it's name) it grants +1/3 ch. lv. to dex and +ch lv to Jump
- Mountain Tunic(Two Ton Tunic)- This light weight tunic, when activated, provides the protection of Magic Adamantine Carapace and weighs 80 lbs. RM: Weighs 1 oz while active.
- Eye of Dashi- A large pendant of a stylised eye which grants use of a ranged touch attack that deals 1d6/2ChLv electric damage.
- Third Arm Sash- A long sash that ends in three claw-like tassels on one side. When activated, it acts as a third arm with a 10' reach, and grants +1/3ChLv Str. When used by an Earth Element warrior it grants a reach attack that does 1d6/2ChLv bludg. damage.
- Fist of Tebigong- An oversized magic gauntlet which grants great strength. When activated it gives +1/3ChLv to strength, and is effectively a Magic Force Shield.
- Sky Boots (Jet Bootsu)- A pair of large metal and leather boots, when activated they allow use of Spider Climb.
- Monkey Staff- A staff of hard wood with a stylised monkey decoration on the top. When activated it grants +1/3 ch lv to Dex, +ChLv to climb, jump, tumble and balance. Starting when activated, and after every full ten minutes it is used, the user gains a random monkey attribute from the following list. After five (mechanical) attributes are gained, the user makes a will save (DC 20) with each additional attribute (even cosmetic attributes). On a failed save, the character believes it is a monkey, and will act as such until the staff is removed from their possession.
Monkey Attributes
1-Monkey Feet, feet are usable as hands, but character walks on all fours (either scampering like a monkey, or knuckle walking like a gorilla), Character also gains a climb speed equal to their landspeed.
2-Brachiation, arms visibly and somewhat grotesquely lengthen and character may move at full land speed through dense trees)
3-Bite, damage appropriate to size, character's teeth lengthen and sharpen, mouth forms a more muzzle like shape, character tends to vocalize like a monkey, but can still speak
4-Prehensile Tail, aids climbing (+4 circumstance), can wield simple weapons at str-4
5-Fur, Character's body grows rough bristle like hair, somewhat insulating (protects against low climate temperatures but not cold damage)
6-Craving for Fruit, the character must make a dc 20 will save every ten minutes not spent eating fruit (other things can be done while eating, but character is effectively minus an arm, or can't use their tail if they've gained it). If the save is failed, the character drops what they're doing and seeks fruit.
7-Strength of an Ape, character gains a +1/3 ch lv enh. Bonus to str
8-Agility of the Monkey, character gains +4 racial bonus to dex, and +6 racial bonus to Climb and Jump as long as staff is in possession.
9-Minor attribute with no mechanical effect
10-No attribute
-Other attributes can be added at GM's discretion (like poo flinging and leg humping if you really want)
During the Year of the Monkey, when the Monkey Staff is used in conjunction with the Tongue of Saiping, the character gains use of an army of monkeys, apes, girallons and baboons. For each point of Charisma modifier, the character gains use of a number of primates equal to (ChLv-Creature CR)-1, (they cannot control any creature with a CR greater than ChLv-2). For some unknown reason, the creatures summoned by this combination are green. - Tangle Web Comb- An ornate gold and ivory hair comb. The user may make a ranged touch attack to Entangle one target. This attack requires a DC 18 concentration check to use, if it fails the user is entangled instead.
- Golden Tiger Claws- A single Claw Gauntlet made of gold and onyx, with short dull orange fur around the hand. Allows use of Gate as the spell cast by a 17th level caster by physically slashing at the air and tearing a hole in space. Keeping a gate open does not require concentration, but still cannot be held open for longer than 1 rnd per caster level.
- Changing Chopsticks- A pair of red and gold chopsticks. Shrinks user or another object to fine size. RM: the user or an object increases in size by up to one category per three ChLv. Both items are required to reverse this change, if the chopsticks alone are used, they have their normal effect.
- Sword of the Storm- A bronze falchion style sword with gracefully curved hand guards and a a eagle head pommel. Mechanically it will not function like a sword, at all, passing straight through it's target like so much air. Instead, it forms a small tornado, causing 1d6/2ChLv slashing damage as the winds rip at the opponent. It also allows use of Control Winds. If used in conjunction with the Eye of Dashi, allows user to fly at twice landspeed with perfect maneuverability.
- Shroud of Shadows- A long cloak which flows almost liquid and is pure and deepest black. Allows use of Improved Invisibility.
- Helmet of Jong- A bronze helm with two mandible like spikes curving inwards from the sides and a crown of spines. Helm of All Around Vision. RM: Subject is blinded.
- The Ring of Nine Dragons does not exist because I don't want to pound out something that is accurate and isn't crippling or broken-
- Falcon's Eye- A smallish medallion of a round ruby set in gold with a feathered eyebrow like detail. Can be held to the eye or simply worn. Allows user to see through mundane substances less than 5' thick, increases range of vision five fold (ignore half the penalty on a ranged weapon due to range increments, round up), and see normally in mundane and magical darkness.
- Sapphire Dragon- A statuette of a serpentine dragon coiled into a tea kettle like shape, with head as spout and a bent tail as handle. When found it appears to be black, but the colour is actually soot which keeps the Dragon dormant. Once this soot is rubbed off, The statuette comes to life at it's full 32' length and acts with it's own malevolence. It can be made dormant once more by again covering it in soot, which requires the smoke produced by about five square feet of flame per 1' radius spot of dragon (so call it ~200 sq ft. of fire).
- Huge Construct
- Hit Die: 12d10+40 (100hp)
- Init: +2

- Saves: Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +4
- Abilities: Str 30, Dex 14, Con-, Int-, Wis-, Cha-

- Serpent's Tail- A gold disembodied tail. It is a Ghost touch item, and makes the user incorporeal while it stays a physical object. RM: makes incorporeal characters corporeal.
- Orb of Tournami- A large crystal orb. As Decanter of Endless Water, also allows use of Control Water. Alternatively, a Water Element warrior may use it to release a cone of cold, dealing 1d6/2ChLv cold damage in a 30' cone.
- Star Hanabi- A golden star medallion with a cut ruby center. May be modified to be a bolo tie because of dumb texans. Sheds light as a torch while active. Fire Element warriors can make use of a ranged attack which deals 1d6/2ChLv fire damage, and Flight over fire/lava
- Lotus Twister- A short rod similar to a sword hilt, with a yellow lotus on top. Increases user's reach 20', +1/3ChLv Dex, +1/3ChLv Dodge bonus to AC.
- Longi Kite- A fancy dragon shaped kite, grants character a winged flight speed of 80' (average).
- Tongue of Saiping- A long silver forked snake tongue which wraps around the user's neck, the forks coiling around the end to secure it. Character may speak with animals, Allows use of Dominate Animal. RM: Character's speech is incoherent.
- Sun Chi Lantern- A spherical gold and ruby bulls eye lantern which copies the chi of those it's light shines upon. The user copies any one spell like effect the target can use, from any source, of a level up to 1/3rd of the user's ChLv. The ability remains copied for 1 rnd per ChLv, and can be used as frequently as the target can normally use it.
- Heart of Jong- A large ruby that looks like a slightly oversized human heart. Animate Object/Element/Substance and Awakens it. RM: as Feeble Mind and Statue, but subject cannot freely revert to normal state.
- Reversing Mirror- A large oval hand mirror, with a handle on either end perpendicular to the length of the mirror (like so |{O}| ). Reflects one attack per round to the character who made it. Will also reverse the effects of other Wu as mentioned in those Wu descriptions (the RM notation).
- Shard of Lightning- Literally a shard of crackling energy bound into a wood and bone handle. When activated, the user may act with the speed of lightning, but only for the length of time of a lightning strike. Allows use of Time Stop, user is hasted for the duration of the time stop. When the time stop ends, only about a second has actually passed.
- Crystal Glasses- Gold glasses with multi-facted crystal lenses. Allows the user to see into the future. In combat this manifests a +1/3ChLv insight bonus to Initiative and AC. Alternately the user can see far into the future, effectively getting to ask the DM plot points that haven't been reached yet. DM is allowed to smack the player for excessive use and player must buy any booze/asprin the GM requires after use of this item. RM: The combat bonuses are instead penalties as the user is shown a false future, and the GM gets to make up whatever crazy lies he wants about the plot.
- Wushu Helmet- A thick bronze face mask. User gains the Deflect Arrows feat, usable a number of times per round equal to 1/4ChLv
- Wings Tinabi- A bronze and wood back plate with a broad wing coming off of either side. As Longi Kite, but leaves rainbow vapour trail that may be tracked as normal movement over ground.
- Gloves of Jisaku- Large gold gauntlet, when activated it forms a solid orb around the fist, with two large tines coming off of either side. Causes objects to swiftly fly to the user, as if the violent thrust version of Telekinesis had been used, except the direction is always towards the user, and a DC 20 Ref save allows the user to catch the object. RM: objects move away from user.
- Thorn of Thunderbolt- Bronze and ruby Sai, allows use of a ranged touch attack, 1d6/ch lv electric damage
- Ju-ju Flytrap- A large stylized gold flower bud, when activated, the user shoots a swarm of stinging insects at a target (as spider swarm summoned by Summon Swarm, but with a 60' (average) flight speed, and they aren't actually arachnids or spiders if that matters). A ranged touch attack is required to summon the swarm in the target's space, a miss causes the swarm to appear in a random square adjacent to the target (usu. Just roll a d8)
- Silk Spitter- This Wu is superficially similar to the handle of a punching dagger, but instead of a blade there are two protrusions resembling the head and abdomen of a spider, respectively, each with four legs (and pedipalps for the "head"). When activated, the user emulates the web ability of a gargantuan monstrous spider, with unlimited uses per day.
- Sands of Time- A large, ornate, wood and gold hour glass. Effectively just an adventure hook. The use of this item causes a scenario which your dm will have to run, or handwave.
- Ruby of Ramses- Large ruby with agate rays radiating from the base Allows use of Telekinesis and Dominate Monster
- Mind Reader Conch- A gold conch which, when activated and held to the ear allows the user to know the surface thoughts of those around him. This only has the combat application seen in the show when you're facing idiots who actually plot out their next course of action word for word before they do it...
- Shadow of Fear- This gold statue of an imposing bird of prey allows use of Manifest Nightmare, with the exception that the conjured image is actually a real manifestation. Use stats appropriate for whatever the person fears (giant spider, deeper darkness, a giant for large, physically imposing, and abusive family members, etc.)
- Lasso Boa Boa- A long, thin snake, perfectly preserved, and with the flexibility and suppleness of a silk rope. Magic lasso (allows you to initiate a grapple with a ranged touch attack, pin or entangle only). When activated, it becomes a constrictor with CR no greater than you ChLv-2.
- Monsoon Sandals- A pair of simple geta (though they have a simple cloth strap rather than a thong) with water and wind designs on the fabric. When activated, the user's strides can reach incredible distances. Effectively, you gain two size categories (even though your legs stretch to make you taller than most buildings, you remain comparatively long and thin, and so only gain two size categories) and add 100' to your land speed. However, due to gaining absurdly long, gangly, and rubbery legs, you are unable to make 5 ft. steps while the sandals are active, unless you have had them in your personal possession and trained with them regularly for at least a year.
- Mosaic Scale- A gold box with precious stone mosaic of weighing scales. Said to be used to cause mischief, it contains the spirit Sabini, an evil parasite. Stat later. When the Scale is broken, Sabini escapes.
- Monarch Wings- A wooden pair of monarch butterfly wings. When possessed by Sabini, he grows to medium size and needs no host. When Sabini joins the wings and the Mosaic Scale, he becomes "invincible." If Sabini is tricked back into the Mosaic Scales box, the wings can be used to seal it.
- Lunar Locket- A large enamel locket featuring astrological paintings of the Moon, strung on a cord of wooden beads. Allows the user to control the phases of the moon. (Yeah, I'm having difficulty seeing a utility for this outside of lycanthropes too....)
- Gills of Hamachi- This golden band with a fish scale aquamarine decoration on the bridge fits around a person's neck, over the throat. While activated, the user breathes water, has a swim speed equal to their land speed, and takes on the gross physical aspects of an aquatic creature (gills, scales, fins, etc.). RM: Removes the ability to breath water of aquatic creatures.
- Black Beetle- A small statuette of a black beetle. When activated, functions as Dragonscale suit Armour, fire only, minus the +10 ability. Also functions as a folding boat that is fire/lava proof (cannot be worn while in boat form).
- Sphere of Yun- A burgundy metal sphere with a simple loop handle on top, traps target in a spherical wall of force. Target is unable to use class abilities or racial special attacks, and their gear is separated from them (leaving clothing at the user's choice). Alternatively the user may seal himself inside, and he retains his abilities and gear, but cannot attack outsider the sphere anymore than he can be attacked inside.
- Emperor Scorpion- A very stylised wood and gold scorpion bracelet, legs forming the clasp around the wearer's lower forearm. Allows the user to take complete control of Shen Gong Wu, any Wu controlled count against his normal item limit. Creatures that are, or are composed of Wu are controlled as if by a Dominate Monster effect. Creatures that are merely contained by Wu, like Sabini, are not affected by this Wu.
- Zing Zom-bone- This Wu looks like nothing so much as a large stone with a human ribcage carved to cover it's entire horizontal circumference. Allows use of Command on a number of targets equal to the user's wisdom modifier.
- Fountain of Hui- Looks very much like a large crown of spikes, but isn't worn. The user gains unlimited knowledge. They are helpless as the sudden influx put them into effectively a catatonic state. To make use of this Wu in any real way, the user must also utilize the Eagle Scope, which allows them to focus on specific facts. RM:there is no specified effect for using the Reversing Mirror with this Wu, but I imagine it would effectively remove all knowledge from the user.
- Eagle Scope- A gold scope shaped like a streamlined eagle. Allows the user to see up to one mile per point of Charisma modifier, and to give another person his point of view. Also allows the use of the Awaken spell, and for one to actually make use of the Fountain of Hui.
- Moonstone Locust- A stone locust bent in a C shape, with a crystal stretching from head to abdomen to form a full circle. Allows use of the Insect Plague spell.
- Wushan Geyser- Extremely simple bronze helmet shaped much like a bell, with a fully open face. Allows use of the Mind Rape spell. The user is coated in a thin covering of water while the Wu is worn.
- Wu Zhi Shooter- A long horn, with an orb near the bell end. When activated a purple mist is loosed in a 30 ft cone, Ref DC 25 to avoid. Targets act as if inebriated and take -4 to Int and Wis, partial actions only for 1d10 rounds.
- Manchurian Musca- a particularly gruesome and stylised fly statuette. The user is polymorphed into a fly and craves sugar (the craving has no real mechanical effect). Their belongings, including the Wu, meld to their body in this form. It is just barely possible to make out gross physical characteristics of the person in their fly form, such as hair colour and style, or large tattoos, to discern that it is the person polymorphed rather than an actual fly.
- Golden Finger- A large gold statue of a hand pointing with the index finger. Allows use of Time Stop.
- Moby Morpher- Allows use of Shapechange, user can take the shape of “unique” individuals.
(image included because I neither know what to call it, nor how to describe it.)
- Rio Reverso- A small item, shaped like a very angular bow, with handle in place of string, and a crystal spike protruding from the center. Returns polymorphed or shapechanged targets to return to their original form.
- Fancy Feet- Winged sandals of blue and yellow. When activated, the wearer's land speed is increased by 100', they may use airwalk, and hover about three feet above the ground. They don't really "step" while walking anymore, either, while wearing the sandals.
- Shadow Slicer- a simple black and gold palm sized disk, allows use of Mirror Image.
- Kazusu Atom- A strange item that resembles a gold top, on a black sword handle, with bronze hand guards. Allows use of a disintegrate effect (as the spell) in a 30' line.
- Denshi Bunny- A blue crystal rabbit sculpture. User takes on a form of electricity, their items and the Wu meld with their form, though they can leave specific items unmelded, and magic items still function. User can move in any direction (including straight up) at a speed of 180 ft., and can move freely through conductive material regardless of size, but non-conductive material is an impenetrable wall. User may make a melee or ranged touch attack that deals 1d6/ChLv electric damage
- Kaijin Charm- A piece of full arm armour for one arm (either one), with black metal pauldron and rerebrace, gold couter and gauntlet, and spiked red vambrace. The user may Create Water at will, as a swift action. Grants Expert Access to the Water Sphere. When used with the Shimo Staff, the user can hurl a storm of ice spikes, dealing 1d6/ChLv damage as a 30' radius area of effect attack (ref dc 10+1/2 ChLv+Wis Mod) as a full round action.
-Shimo Staff- The Elemental Weapon of Water Element warriors. When inactive, it is a small cylinder of ice, but does not melt, and is not uncomfortable to the touch. It is vaguely intelligent and empathic, and can hear what happens in it's surroundings, but this usually leads to little more than it's physically displaying a mood through "pose" (you can tell when it's sad, it actually droops a bit, etc.). It can replicate any weapon it's weilder desires, at will. - Cat's Eye Draco- A red sleeve with gold coloured lattice detail, and a large cat's eye stone at the shoulder, and gold metal hand loop. The user may call up large flames and fires, up to 5' radius per ChLv. If used offensively, this fire deals 1d8/ChLv fire damage. Grants Expert Access to the Flame Sphere. When used with the Arrow Sparrow, the two function as a semi-sentient Flaming Sphere-like effect that issues from the square directly in front of you, it deals 1d6/ChLv damage (half fire, half divine, as with Flame Strike), and can move with a Fly speed of 90' (good). Activating this effect is a full round action, but it lasts until deactivated and takes no more concentration to control than a Flaming Sphere or summoned creature.
-The Arrow Sparrow- The Elemental Weapon of Fire Element warriors. It is a small leather pouch with the image of a bird on the front, worn over one shoulder. Inside is a limitless amount of small bird shaped darts which are treated as magic flaming darts, and will explode on impact for another 1d12 damage. - Crest of the Condor- The user may summon large gusts of wind, as Control Wind, but the effects form a 60' cone. Grants Expert Access to the Air Sphere. When used with the Blade of the Nebula, the user can create a 60' cone of hurricane force winds as a full round action that deal 1d8/ChLv damage (half wind, half force).
-Blade of the Nebula- The Elemental Weapon of Air Element warriors. Shaped much like the Sword of the Storm, this is a blue-glass like falchion, and, also like the sword of the storm, does not function as an actual sword. When activated, the sword becomes a nunchaku, from the end of which issues a small tornado, which deals 1d6/ChLv slashing damage. - Longhorn Taurus- A fully articulated gold arm piece, with a bull's face design covering most of the upper arm. The user may create earth, as the spell Major Creation, limited to stone and earth, and use the spell Telekinesis, limited to earth and stone. Grants Access to the Earth sphere. When used with the Meteor-rang, the projectiles will spin on their axis, leaving a green vapour trail, and rip large holes in their targets. Their critical range becomes 17-20, and their multiplier becomes X4, finally, they are treated as weapons of sharpness.
-Meteor-rang- The Elemental Weapon of Earth Element warriors. This is a large boomerang of gold and blue enamel (1d8 slashing damage, 60' range, x2 crit). When thrown, the meteor-rang splits into a number of projectiles equal to the user's Con mod+1, each of which may target a separate target, if desired. The meteor-rang ignores hardness and DR. - Cannon Blaster- When activated, this large cannon literally fires the user like a cannon ball, and flies behind them to their hands when they land. I have no clue how to stat this at the moment.
- Mikado Arms- A large plaque of two gold arms clasping each other, when used the Mikado Arms grant the user gains a +40 bonus to strength and he is treated as being a Huge creature in all beneficial ways. No other strength increases are applied, this bonus over-writes any other active effect.
So that's more or less it for the Wu. I may stat up the Ying and Yang yo yos if I can figure out what their mechanical effect should be, but other than that, the rest are pretty dumb, or would exactly duplicate something else on the list I see no real reason to duplicate. Oh, and this is just stuff from the show. There was a card game, and a video game I think, and I'm sure both had plenty more Wu, as, fluff wise, there are supposed to be thousands, if not more.
so let me know if anything is particularly fucked up, or too bland, or what, but those are all pretty accurate to the show.
