I like the concept rather a lot but I believe that you have already outlined the potential problems based on book-keeping.

Yes. An explanation is warranted.

My two cents/nuyen/GP/currency of your choice: Class-less systems give the player a greater sense of control over their character and his development. The problem is that they give that same player actual control over the development of his character. This can (and often does) lead to munchkin or su...

NOTE: These comments refer to the FASA version published in 1997. I've played the FASA version and I'm not impressed (but not disappointed) with the mechanics. Each roll is based on a "step" number that can be added to or subtracted from. d4 d6 d8 d10 d12 2d6 d8+d6 etc. Target numbers star...

Personally I prefer the first half of option 1: the faith of the individual makes them immune (at least temporarily) to the influence of the vampire. Simply having a symbol without faith work seems ... off. For the purposes of the game you could define "holy" as a state of being integral o...

Why do we like 3.x? Because 4e is FUBAR which I suppose is SNAFU at WOTC.

That, and, we know and are comfortable with it.

I was hoping for, but not expecting, in depth analysis of every moderately well known system around. Well, glad to see that you didn't expect that as the answer. Although to be honest, I would love to see that analysis as well. From a completely subjective viewpoint, I prefer multiple dice seeking ...

But I agree with Elennsar that Flaws should be weighted towards the negative...they should hinder more than they help. The are flaws, after all.

Let's say you have the Tragic Flaw of Pride. This means that you can spend "good" Pride Points to gain specified benefits, which give the GM "bad" Pride Points which he can later spend to whack you with. Also, the GM can spend "bad" Pride Points to make your life inter...

Having played and GM'd a StarWars d6 game, I will add my two cents. The rules are fine for a generalized adventure game; however, once you start adding complexity the system breaks. The Force powers are just ... just ... wrong. I can only imagine that the fantasy powers (d6 Fantasy) are just as bad....

From a GM POV, you could craft a methodology where time is only variable at certain points - kind of like a gate if you will. Reminds me of the old "pick-your-own-path" books from the 80s. Not full fledged time travel but much easier to adjudicate as the GM. Most movies assume an X:1 propa...

If you wanted to have some degree of time travel without all the problems, you could the temporal manipulation to bullet time a la The Matrix and a round or two of time re-wind a la Prince of Persia and other games.
